Effects Demo

This is a special effects demo containing experiments in matte painting, green screen, rotoscoping, and camera projection.

The first part of the video features a matte painting placed over stock footage of a lighthouse. The matte painting was created in Photoshop and aligned with the video using motion tracking in After Effects.

The second part of the video features stock footage of a pond. A matte painting was created by adding the gazebo to the scene. Green screen footage of the girl was edited and added to the scene as well. The final piece is the video footage of the ducks which was rotoscoped and added to the footage.

The final part of the effects demo is a simple example of camera projection. I used a photograph of an Apple computer box and created a 3D model in Cinema 4D on which to map the photograph. This model allowed me to zoom and pan the shot in multiple directions to give the video the appearance of being 3-dimensional.
